As part of the Nordplus program, a workshop titled “Cooperation in Higher Education” brought together academic staff from Riga Technical University, Kaunas Technical University, and Vilnius University to explore joint opportunities in higher education and innovation. This event also served as a key moment to spotlight the mission and vision of the GreenTech Horizons (GTH) project—fostering ecological and digital transformation through education and innovation across East Asia, Central Asia, and the Eastern Partnership EU countries.
GreenTech innovation starts where education meets collaboration.
The workshop opened with presentations from participating institutions, where representatives showcased their universities, departments, study programs, and ongoing international projects. These insights laid the groundwork for identifying shared research and educational interests.

A central part of the event was dedicated to introducing the GreenTech Horizons project. Teams from Kaunas and Riga presented its core objectives: to build green, digital, and entrepreneurial competencies that equip societies to face challenges such as climate change, economic digitalization, and sustainability. Attendees were particularly engaged by the project’s unique approach to creating a multi-stakeholder educational ecosystem involving universities, industries, and government entities from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and EU member states.
Discussions also echoed themes from the recent Sunrise Conference, where GreenTech innovations were highlighted as powerful tools for sustainable development and smart digital growth. Participants were eager to explore how such innovations could be integrated into academic curricula and regional cooperation strategies.
