The GreenTech Horizons project has officially begun, marking the start of a transformative initiative dedicated to advancing sustainable innovation and green technology adoption across Europe and beyond. The Kick-Off Meeting, held on November 28-29, 2024, at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) in Almaty, Kazakhstan, brought together over 40 participants from 17 partner institutions to establish a shared vision and structured approach for the project’s implementation.
Laying the Groundwork for Impactful Collaboration
The meeting set a solid foundation for collaboration, ensuring all partners are aligned on the project’s objectives, methodology, and expected outcomes. With a consortium composed of universities, research institutions, industry stakeholders, and public sector organizations, GreenTech Horizons is committed to developing and integrating cutting-edge green technologies into research and industrial applications, reinforcing Europe’s sustainability goals.
Partners engaged in in-depth discussions on strategic work packages (WPs), defining roles and responsibilities, governance mechanisms, and key deliverables. Particular emphasis was placed on quality assurance, impact monitoring, and communication strategies to ensure the project’s success and long-term sustainability. The meeting also served as an opportunity to initiate detailed micro-planning for WPs 2 and 3, setting clear short-term and long-term milestones.
