The University of Information Technology and Management (WSIiZ) in Rzeszów, Poland, hosted the conference “Competences without an Expiry Date”, dedicated to developing the knowledge and skills needed in a changing labour market. The event brought together educators, researchers, project partners, students, and aspiring entrepreneurs, addressing topics closely aligned with the objectives of GreenTech Horizons.
Throughout the two-day programme, participants explored the importance of lifelong learning for the green and digital transitions, the application of artificial intelligence in business, and the alignment of academic curricula with modern economic needs. Particular attention was given to digital adaptability, business resilience, managing multigenerational teams, and modernising the education of future engineers.
Sustainable entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility formed an important part of the conference. Presentations and discussions highlighted that environmental and social responsibility should be integral to business models and long-term development strategies.
Practical sessions covered micro-credentials as a means of acquiring and validating specific digital and green skills, opportunities for reskilling and career changes, and the use of digital platforms to showcase knowledge and experience.
Discussions emphasised the connection between digital literacy and sustainable development, alongside the importance of continuous professional development in adapting to technological and economic changes. These themes reflect GreenTech Horizons’ focus on connecting education, innovation, and the competencies needed for a green and digital future.
