University was established in 2001 and was called «Kazakhstan Engineering and Technological University». The range of educational programs is diverse: information and communication technologies, software engineering, radio engineering, electronics, energy, technological machines and equipment, standardization and certification, life safety, technologies and engineering of food production, bioinformatics, biotechnology, fruit and vegetable growing and agro-soil science, chemical technologies, as well as finance, accounting and auditing, marketing, tourism innovative technologies in economics, etc. Today METU is one of the best universities in Kazakhstan, which trains in-demand and highly competent specialists on the basis of educational programs recognized by international accreditation agencies. METU trains specialists, both under state grants and at a paid department within the framework of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral PhD programs.METU college is functioning at the university.
