Riga Technical University - RTU

RTU is the only polytechnic university in Latvia and the largest university in the country – it educates and trains almost 14 thousand students. In the faculties of RTU it is possible to obtain high quality education not only in engineering, but also in social sciences and humanities. The research process at RTU is organized based on six research platforms. Two of them, which are presented in the project, Information and Communication; Energy and Environment – will provide the necessary support for the project. RTU is a leader in robotics research and development, mobile robot design and navigation on the national level.

Closing (Ongoing Projects and Key Expertize):

In GreenTech Horizon, RTU is presented by the Faculty of Computer Science, Information Technology and Energy (FCITE). The necessary infrastructure for the project is available at FCITE faculty: scientific infrastructure for research activities includes individual working places for researchers and PhD students equipped with advanced computing stations for parallel computing, specially equipped labs for autonomous robot and drone experiments, High Performance Computing Centre, 3D printers, oscilloscopes and other measurement instruments, soldering stations, power suppliers, cameras, embedded devices for R&D, passive and active electronic components, etc.

The team of RTU has obtained necessary experience in EU funded programs: ERASMUS+ CBHE, Strategic Partnerships for higher education, HORIZON EU, Latvian Rural Development Program for Support for new products, methods, processes and technologies and other EU and national funded projects.
