University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow - UITM Center for Teaching Development

The University of Information Technology and Management (UITM) in Rzeszow, established in 1996, is the largest private university in Poland’s Podkarpackie Region, with over 400 staff and nearly 5,000 students, including 1,500 from over 40 countries. UITM is known for its cutting-edge approach to education, emphasizing IT solutions, gamified learning, and extensive e-learning resources, which align with the university’s commitment to sustainable development and project management education.
Its four faculties—Management, Information Technology, Digital Media and Communication, and Medical—offer undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs in both Polish and English. UITM also holds the right to confer doctoral degrees in Social Communication and Media Sciences, marking its dedication to advanced research and education.
Closing (Ongoing Projects and Key Expertize):
UITM’s E-learning Department has significantly advanced online education, particularly in project management, civil aviation, digital marketing, and game design. UITM’s Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are freely available on NAVOICA, a platform established by Poland’s Ministry of Education and Science, allowing learners worldwide to access quality education in areas where UITM has deep expertise. The most recent edition of UITM’s online courses attracted over 2,000 registered users from countries including Argentina, China, Norway, and Nigeria, issuing 789 certificates. Popular courses like Managerial Economics, Introduction to Civil Aviation Management, Computer Game Design, and Digital Marketing are available for free, making UITM’s programs accessible to diverse learners, from children to professionals.
The Center for Teaching Development (CTD) at UITM further amplifies the university’s digital learning focus, having designed specialized postgraduate project management programs and numerous industry-driven simulations such as Car Factory and ECO-BALANCE. CTD collaborates closely with the business community, ensuring programs are grounded in practical industry needs, while extensive faculty and student support in e-learning has been instrumental in adapting to remote learning methodologies.
