Azerbaijan Technological University - ATU

Azerbaijan Technological University (www.atu.edu.az ) was founded on the initiative of national leaders in 1970 in Ganja. The university provides education in one campus consisting of 6 educational and 1 administrative buildings. Besides, for the incoming students there is a dormitory which can host 1,000 students in the city. The university offers 24 bachelors, 19 masters, and 18 doctoral degree programs and serves to 3200 students with a teaching and research staff of 550.

ATU’s main educational fields are IT and Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Textile Engineering, Food Sciences and Technology, Tourism Technologies, Machine-Building, Business Administration, Industrial Management, Public Administration, Management and Training-Education Technologies of Human Resources.

The University aims to provide physically and mentally strong progressive candidates who will stimulate the development of technologies in all strategic spheres of Azerbaijan. After the independence, the importance of our university to the country has further increased. So that, establishing several production enterprises in different areas of industry, as well as reconstruction of mining industries and rapid development of information communication technologies and such kind of directions make it necessary bring new modern technical equipment to the country for the development of the non-oil sector.

In 2013 Azerbaijan Technological University has changed its working approach by start of Customer Orientation Program, which shift up education quality and make education in accordance with requirements of customers. This situation makes ATU more attractive and each year number of students increase rapidly.

Internationalization is a one of the major element for the future development of Azerbaijan Technological University. ATU recognizes the importance of working with other international organizations to achieve a sustainable future, therefore employs an array of methods to meet its strategic goals. Additionally, developed an environment that is conducive to collaboration, teamwork, respect and produces high quality outcomes, promotes capacity building as key as well development is done to support sustainability.

ATU demonstrated significant developmental progression and successfully partners with international universities within ERASMUS+ program since 2016. ATU acted as a partner in 4 projects (EQAC, CRENG, ECAR, REFRESH) financed by the European Union. Two of those projects – CRENG and EQAC – have been successfully completed. As the main result of the EQAC project (Establishment and Development of Quality Assurance Centres in Azerbaijan Universities) Quality Assurance Center was established at the university and educational programs were updated according to ESG standards. As the main result of the CRENG project (Crises and Risk engineering in transport services), a master’s program in the relevant field and a CRENG Service office were established at the university.
