Regional event in Romania connects tourism innovation, digital skills, and sustainable development
The “Discover the North-East” Tourism Gala 2025, held in Botoșani, Romania, brought together over 250 participants from across the public, academic, and innovation sectors to mark a decade of regional cooperation in tourism, digitalisation, and sustainable growth.

A meeting point for regional innovation and collaboration
Organised by the North-East Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord-Est), the three-day event created a dynamic platform for dialogue between policymakers, educators, entrepreneurs, and digital innovation experts.
European Academy participated in the Gala Educației session with a presentation titled “Tourism Innovation Labs: How to Link Digital Tools and Entrepreneurship”, while also introducing the GreenTech Horizons project to a diverse group of stakeholders.

Linking tourism innovation with green and digital skills
Although focused on tourism, the event opened broader discussions on shared priorities such as digital transformation, institutional innovation, and the transition toward a green economy.
Through presentations and networking activities, participants explored:
- the role of digital tools in driving innovation and entrepreneurship
- the importance of aligning education with labour market needs
- opportunities for cross-sector collaboration in sustainability and capacity building
The GreenTech Horizons project was presented as a relevant initiative addressing these challenges, particularly through its focus on curriculum innovation, skills development, and international cooperation across Europe and beyond.
Expanding the reach of GreenTech Horizons
The event provided valuable opportunities to connect with stakeholders from universities, research institutions, public authorities, and innovation ecosystems. Discussions highlighted strong interest in how higher education can better support green and digital transitions, an area directly addressed by the project.

GreenTech Horizons visibility was reinforced through:
- direct engagement with regional and international stakeholders
- post-event communication via the European Academy website
- LinkedIn outreach targeting professional and policy audiences
The Gala successfully positioned GreenTech Horizons within a broader ecosystem of innovation and cooperation, strengthening its relevance in supporting sustainable and digitally driven transformation across regions.
