UITM Workshop Connects Academics and Practitioners on the Path to Sustainability
The University of Information Technology and Management (UITM) in Rzeszów hosted an intensive training workshop aimed at equipping project managers, academics, and institutional leaders with the tools and knowledge to accelerate green and digital transitions within the framework of sustainable development.
Organized by UITM’s Sustainable Development Office, the event brought together experts from diverse sectors to share best practices and explore the intersection of technology, education, and sustainability. Through a mix of presentations, case-based group work, and interactive panel discussions, participants examined how digital tools and green innovations can be effectively applied in both project management and academic settings.
From Concepts to Practice: Shaping Sustainable Solutions Across Sectors
The training featured contributions from specialists in green technologies, digital transformation, and higher education, providing insights into how interdisciplinary approaches can drive measurable sustainability outcomes. Key topics included:
- Integrating green technologies into academic research and institutional operations;
- Leveraging digital tools to support energy efficiency, waste reduction, and data-driven planning;
- Embedding sustainability competencies into higher education curricula and leadership training.
Participants—ranging from university professors and administrators to researchers and project managers—actively engaged in hands-on exercises and collaborative discussions. Many highlighted the practical value of group case studies, which helped translate theory into real-world strategies. The event also served as a networking platform, fostering cross-sector dialogue and regional collaboration.
While the overall feedback was highly positive, several participants expressed interest in deeper, follow-up workshops that would allow for the co-creation of concrete tools and frameworks for institutional implementation.
This training session reaffirmed UITM’s role as a regional catalyst for sustainability innovation, empowering stakeholders across academia and industry to lead in building a more resilient, future-ready society.
